“ALLEGEDLY Taiwan will not deport the OFW supposedly posting libelous comments against the president and his supporters.
If the DOLE is serious about sending Ms. Elanel Egot Ordidor home, it’s next step would be to file charges here in the Philippines and then have her passport cancelled.
When her passport is cancelled there will be no need to request deportation, as she will no longer have a necessary travel document. MECO will only have to notify the Immigrations authorities in Taiwan.
But why is the MECO claiming that Ordidor committed cyberlibel? That requires a complaint from the person libelled, the president. And as far as we can see, there is none.
Instead, they should have alleged cyber inciting to sedition which can be filed by any person with personal knowledge of the crime. But they did not do that.
Things are still happening on this, so let us see.” paliwanag ni Atty. Trixie.
